Minutes of Sho-Me Band Booster Meeting April 16th, 2009
Mr. Winters and Mr. Stanton presented an informational meeting at the Kay Porter Theater on April 16th at 6:30 p.m. on all aspects of the band to parents and students for the upcoming school year.
Show music was given out to the students along with information about the Disney trip scheduled for March of 2010.
A run down of band fees and costs of the band were presented. A $50.00 deposit for a Marching position is due by the end of the school year along with a $50.00 deposit for the Disney trip.
Parents and students were informed of the fundraisers that will be taking place during the next year. A portion of these funds raised will go into the student’s accounts.
Upcoming band dates were mentioned. The 4th of July Parade is required for Marching Band and Concert Band members. Practice dates are July 2 and 3rd with the parade being on Saturday, July 4th.
Mr. Winters discussed the dates of Band Camp and the show for the parents to be held on August 14th.
Band Competitions were presented for October as follows:
Mid South Competition - October 3rd (Uncertain at this time) Sikeston – October 6th Potosi State Festival - October 10th Park Hills Festival – October 17th Greater St. Louis – October 24th
Parents and students were presented information regarding the Disney Trip scheduled for March of 2010. Boosters will go as chaperones; cost of the trip is estimated at $700.00 each.
Mr. Winters informed the students that they need to have show music learned and memorized by the time they come for band camp.
