                                Mr. Corey Emerson
                                Assistance Director of Bands





Corey Emerson is the Assistant Director of Bands at PBHS, assisting with the Sho-Me
Marching Band, the Wind Ensemble, the Concert Band, and the Pep Bands.  Mr. Emerson
directs the PB Jazz II, as well as assisting with private lessons and coaching small ensembles.
Originally from Poplar Bluff, Mr. Emerson graduated in 1999 from PBHS, attended Three Rivers
Community College and then transferred to Arkansas State University.  Mr. Emerson currently
holds an Associates Degree in Music (TRCC), a Bachelors Degree in Instrumental Music
Education (ASU), and a Masters Degree in Instrumental Wind Conducting (ASU).

Mr. Emerson met his wife Lauren while attending PBHS, and they were married in December
2006.  Currently they reside in Jonesboro, AR with their dog, Achilles.
Mr. Emerson not only enjoys teaching, but enjoys playing as well.  

He has played professionally on the bass guitar, keys, trombone, and vocals.  Mr. Emerson is
currently playing bass guitar and singing in 2-3 professional ensembles, including some local
jazz groups, and a country group in Nashville, TN.
