Minutes of Sho-Me Band Booster Meeting
July 28, 2009
Meeting was called to order by President, Jeanna Kayser.
SECRETARY REPORT
Secretary report for May’s meeting was presented by Tammy Bostic. Motion to accept was made by Justin Stanton, Jeanie Irvin 2nd, motion
carried.
TREASURER REPORT
Treasurer report was given by Jeanna Kayser. Instrument Fund account is being charged $5.00 per month due to inactivity. It was decided to
close this account.
All bills have been paid to present. The band cards were paid as well as Buddy’s Cleaners.
Jeanna Kayser is working on completing the tax papers for the past year, January thru December, 2008.
Mr. Winters made a motion to accept, Kara Stanton 2nd, motion carried.
FUND RAISER REPORT
Kara Stanton updated the progress on the fundraising. The Band Cards will be a 100 % profit for the students.
It was decided to give Band Boosters who sign up for the new year a band card along with a t-shirt.
A fundraiser meeting will be set up for August. Kara will let the committee know of the upcoming date.
Tammy Bostic made a motion to accept, Susan Reindl 2nd, motion carried.
BAND DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Mr. Winters reported that Band Camp started two days ago with Color Guards and Drumline. There are approximately 12 students in Color
Guards and between 18-20 in the Drumline. The students have had a good attitude.
Band Camp will begin next week. The goals for this year will be on the basics of music and marching.
The 4th of July parade went well.
The Band Calendar has been updated to include the football games and practices.
Kara Stanton made a motion to accept, Tammy Bostic 2nd, motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Uniforms have been cleaned.
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Winters requested to purchase a new CD player. The receiver on the old one is no longer working. It was agreed for a new CD player to
be purchased out of the Instrument Fund Account.
Mr. Winters will contact Amy Jo’s Photography to schedule band pictures to be taken.
Boosters will serve refreshments during band camp on Tuesday and Thursday of the first week and Monday and Wednesday the second week
concluding with an ice cream social on Friday the 14th.
Boosters will begin organizing uniforms on August 6th at 6:00 p.m. and will begin giving out the uniforms to the students on August 10th.
A letter will be given to the students to have parents bring a case of water to the Ice cream Social for the upcoming band competitions.
Jeanie Irvin made a motion to accept, Susan Reindl 2nd, motion carried.
Motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Winters, Justin Stanton 2nd, motion carried.
