                                                                                  Minutes of Sho-Me Band Booster Meeting May 8, 2008




Meeting was called to order by President, Richard Barton.

SECRETARY REPORT

Secretary report was presented by Tammy Bostic.  Motion to accept was made by Corey Emerson, Jeanna Kayser 2nd, motion carried.

TREASURER REPORT

Treasurer report was given by Jeanna Kayser.  The band made $769.00 off the sale from the candles and $170.00 from the admission fee to the
concert.  The Band Fee account of $774.27 was transferred to the General Account and the Band Fees Account was closed on April 22, 2008.

Jeanie Irvin made a motion to accept, Mr. Winters 2nd, motion carried.

FUND RAISER REPORT

The car wash that was scheduled for May 10th at the Chamber of Commerce was cancelled due to Relay for Life having a car wash next door at the
radio station.

Dress Down Days will be done by the PB Schools the week of May 12th to support the band.  Hat Day at the High School will be on Monday, May
12th, $1.00 per ticket.

Corn Bread won the Briggs and Stratton engine; drawing was done the week of the concert.

BAND DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Band Director’s report was given by Mr. Winters.

Band Camp was successful with an increase of students attending.  Color Guards had 22 – 23 students showing up for practice.

The School is paying for the Guard Instructor this year.  

The uniforms have been taken to the cleaners.

Everything has to be out of the building before the end of school for maintenance.  Steve Mayo made a motion to accept, Jeanna Kayser 2nd,
motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Cardinal Tickets are still available and will be sold when the new year begins.

Spring Banquet was a big success.  Jessica Ratliff was awarded $50.00 for selling the most fruit.

The Spring Concert was held on May 1st.  The students were very enthusiastic and a good response from the audience.

NEW BUSINESS

Richard Barton requested that the band get a P.O. Box address, he will be checking on the prices.  

Marcus Sowell’s Company donated wheels for the pit trailer.

It is time to pay the entry fee of $500.00 for Greater St. Louis.  Jeanna Kayser will take care of this.

Richard Barton has been working on the taxes for the past three years to keep the non for profit status.

The band will be going on a big trip in two years.  Discussion has begun on how much of the fund raisers should go toward each students account
toward the trip.  A Money Market Account is still being researched.

New Officers were elected at the Spring Banquet:  Richard Barton, President; Jeanie Irvin, Vice President; Jeanna Kayser, Treasurer; Tammy
Bostic, Secretary.

Becky Neely made a motion to accept, Jeanna Kayser 2nd, motion carried.


No meeting scheduled for June, the next meeting will be in July.

Mr. Winters made a motion to adjourn, Steve Mayo 2nd.
