Minutes of Sho-Me Band Booster Meeting

November 8, 2007


SECRETARY REPORT

Secretary report was presented by Carla Cross.  Motion to accept was made by Jenna Kayser, Mr. Winters 2nd, motion carried.

TREASURER REPORT

Treasurer report was given by Jeanna Kayser.  Carla Cross made a motion to accept, Steve Mayo 2nd, motion carried.

BAND DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Band report was given by Mr. Winters.  On Friday, 11/09/07 a select few of the band will be going to the 5th and 6th Grade Center to
honor the veterans.

Tuesday, 11/13/07 there will be a TRCC JAZZ technology day and a concert that night.

The Christmas concert is scheduled for Tuesday, December 4th at the Kay Porter Theater at 7:00 p.m.  The Christmas parade is
December 8th.

Several students made ALL DISTRICT BAND.

The web site is still being worked on.

Jeanna Kayser made a motion to accept report, Carla Cross 2nd, motion carried.


OLD BUSINESS

The Hayride was a success.  A big thank you to Wayne and Jeanie Irvin for the port a potty.

The rental truck expense for all five band trips was $581.36, not including gas.

Richard Barton is putting together a list of companies to send a request for donations to go toward the instrument wish list.  At present
time he has approximately 82 businesses on the list.

Wayne Irvin will be asked to chair a committee for the car show in the spring.

NEW BUSINESS

The surrounding high school bands have something else planned the date of the Christmas Parade.  The Boosters are being asked if
we want a float in the parade.

Mr. Winters needs to borrow a drill; he is still working on getting the frame up on the concrete wall.

Mr. Winters asked if we might want a Santa to come and take pictures before the Christmas concert.  Carla Cross had one person in
mind, will check to see if he is interested.  Anyone else with ideas contact a Booster.

Paperwork is being completed for the possibility of Blackwell Baldwin donating a truck for the band trips.

FUND RAISER REPORT

Fund raiser report was given by Carla Cross.  The fruit is to be delivered on December 10th at the First Christian Church on Main
Street.  Band cards should be in on Friday.  It was discussed to have a bowling fund raiser for the color guard to pay for their uniforms.  
Fruit sales may also be used for the guard to pay for uniforms.  Jeanna Kayser made a motion to accept report, Mr. Winters 2nd, motion
carried.

Mr. Winters made a motion to adjourn.  Jeanna Kayser 2nd the motion.

December Booster meeting has been cancelled.  Next meeting January 10th.
