MINUTES OF SHO-ME BAND BOOSTER MEETING
October 11, 2007
President Richard Barton called the meeting to order.
SECRETARY REPORT
Secretary report was presented by Tammy Bostic. One item was discussed regarding the Treasurer report in September’s report. The
$965.84 was not a uniform cleaning bill, but was the total for the Color Guards Uniforms. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Karen
Harty, Jeanna Kayser 2nd, motion carried.
TREASURER REPORT
Treasurer report was given by Jeanna Kayser. Mr. Winters made a motion to accept the report, Steve Mayo 2nd, motion carried.
BAND DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Mr. Winters discussed the itinerary for the competition at Potosi. The 8th grade band students have been invited to attend to watch the bands
and eat with the Sho-Me Band Students. They will get a reduced admission to the competition of $2.00 per student. This is being paid by
donations that have been received.
At the football game October 19th will be Senior night. A rose and a white balloon will be given to the Sho-Me Band Seniors.
The football game October 26th will be Patriotic. There will be a parade of veterans, sixth graders with flags and the 8th graders will play with
the Sho-Me Band.
Jeanna Kayser made a motion to accept the report, Carla Cross 2nd, motion carried.
FUND RAISER REPORT
Richard Barton reported that $423.00 was made off of the two raffle nights that were held at the football games.
Color guards need to pay for their uniforms.
The calendars are ready and will be handed out next week to the students, faculty and businesses.
The Sho-Me Band Cards are almost completed and will sell for $10.00 a card.
Fruit sales will also start later this month.
It was discussed to provide an incentive to the students for selling. A decision was made to give each student $1.00 for every $10.00 sold for
both the band card sales and fruit sales. This will be paid to the students on a weekly basis. The students will turn in their money for sales on
Tuesday and Friday.
The total money raised on the dress down days was $313.00 ($95.00 of that was raised at the Junior High to go toward the 8th grade trip to
Potosi).
A motion was made by Mr. Winters to accept the report, Kerri Barton 2nd, motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Winters is working to get the band web site redone.
Richard Barton is putting together a list of companies to contact for donations to go toward an instrument wish list.
NEW BUSINESS
Skate City fund raiser will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2007.
The Sho-Me Band will march in the Christmas Parade scheduled for Saturday, December 8th.
A hay ride was scheduled for Friday, November 2nd from 6:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. Location not finalized at this time. Students will be able to bring
a guest for a fee of $5.00.
It was discussed regarding having a Car Show for a spring fund raiser.
Carla Cross made a motion to adjourn. Jeanna Kayser 2nd, motion carried.
