Minutes of Sho-Me Band Booster Meeting
October 9, 2008


Meeting was called to order by President, Richard Barton.

SECRETARY REPORT

Secretary report was presented by Tammy Bostic.  Motion to accept was made by Jeanna Kayser, Jeanie Irvin 2nd, motion carried.

TREASURER REPORT

Treasurer report was given by Jeanna Kayser.  A breakdown of the general account was presented with a list of deposits and bills that
had been paid.                                                   

The dry cleaning bill for the uniforms was $411.00.  

Installment payments are being made to Mr. Winters for the Guard uniforms and shoes.

Mr. Winters made a motion to accept, Wayne Irvin 2nd, motion carried.

BAND DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Mr. Winters reported that the Festival in Sikeston scheduled for Tuesday, October 7th was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The Band will be going to a competition in Potosi on October 11th and performing at Greater St. Louis on October 25th.  The band will
perform at Greater St. Louis at 1:45 p.m. and then will go to St. Claire Square Mall for a couple of hours, then return to the Dome to
watch the other bands.  They will leave the Dome after the award ceremony.

Amy Jo’s Photography is scheduled to take band pictures on Friday, October 17th at 4:00 p.m. at the Junior High Stadium.

At the present time the Color Guards have raised, $1,425.00, this includes the pizza sales and Band Cards.

Jeanna Kayser made a motion to accept, Jeanie Irvin 2nd, motion carried.

FUND RAISER REPORT

Richard Barton reported that presently the schools were participating in dress down days.  The money will be collected the end of
October.

Richard Barton is checking with Scott Young about doing a Hat Day at the High School.

Leslie Lewis offered to have Skate City night on October 28th or a Tuesday in November from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Richard Barton will
check the calendar regarding these days.

Several ideas were mentioned for upcoming fundraisers.  A fund raiser committee is still being formed.

Mr. Winters will have the band students begin selling Fruit on October 20th thru November 7th.  The fruit will then be delivered in
December.  

Jeanie Irvin made a motion to accept, Mr. Winters 2nd, motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Nothing reported during this meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

Need to make a decision regarding renting a truck for upcoming competitions.  A 16 foot truck can be rented or for $20.00 more can
rent a 26 foot truck with a hitch, if it has a hitch could possibly eliminate pulling one of the trailers.  Richard Barton and Wayne Irvin will
check on this.  

Senior Night will be during half time at the football game on Thursday, October 30th.  Jeanna Kayser will get balloons and roses.

A hayride is scheduled for November 1st between 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Richard Barton will check to see if we can use Dr. Turner’s farm
again this year.  We will need another flat bed trailer with sides to accommodate all the students for the hayride.

Mr. Winters made a motion to accept, Jeanie Irvin 2nd, motion carried.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 13th at 6:30 p.m.

Mr. Winters made a motion to adjourn, Mr. Stanton 2nd.
