MINUTES OF SHO-ME BAND BOOSTER MEETING
September 6, 2007



President Richard Barton called the meeting to order.

Tammy Bostic was appointed secretary to the Band Boosters for the 2007-2008 season.

Secretary report was presented by Karen Harty.  Jeanna Kayser made a motion to accept the minutes.  Leslie Kidwell 2nd, motion carried.

Treasurer report was given by Jeanna Kayser.  Uniform cleaning bill was $965.84.
Carla Cross made a motion to accept the report, Jeanna Kayser 2nd, motion carried.

FUNDRAISER REPORT

Car wash scheduled for Saturday, September 8th at the Chamber of Commerce.
Calendar and band cards are in process of completion.

BAND DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Mr. Winter’s expressed the Band Students are doing a good job in spite of the record heat.  

The first game the band will play at is Friday, September 14th. Plans are for the band to play the whole show on the field, probably without
the props.

The first competition is Saturday, September 22nd at Farmington.  Waiting for the schedule to see when they are scheduled to perform.

Mr. Winters made an executive decision to have the adult t-shirts made the same as the band students t-shirts.

Leslie Kidwell made a motion to accept the report, Jeanna Kayser 2nd motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

The problem concerning the truck damage that occurred during the 4th of July parade has been reconciled.  Robin Blackwell wasn’t
expecting the band to pay for the damage caused to the truck.  A calendar add was offered to Blackwell Baldwin in return.

Jim Bailey cut the cost of cutting the glass for the case to $150.00 in exchange for a calendar add.

Mike Smith from Duckett Truck Center is letting the band rent a truck for $50.00 a day and 19 cents a mile.  Wayne Irvin is employed by
Duckett Truck Center and will be driving the truck to a couple of competitions.

Two old computers are being donated to the band.  Mr. Winters will see where they are needed.

NEW BUSINESS

Car wash scheduled for Saturday, September 8th.  Need parents to help.

Discussion about having a sign put by Aldi’s so traffic will be informed of car wash before they approach the intersection where the band
students are collecting donations.

Richard Barton is discussing with Mr. Winters a wish list for the boosters to target the profits of the fundraisers.

Mr. Winters would like to have a picture taken of the band students by the van that Slug Hefner donated, have the students sign it, and then
give it to Slug Hefner in appreciation.

A fund raiser has been discussed with Leslie Lewis to have a Skate City Party on, Tuesday, October 16 for the school children, charging
$3.00 at the door.

Richard Barton has secured a six month family membership to the PARC Rehabilitation Center.  Suggestion to raffle this off at the football
game.  It was discussed for band boosters to sit at each entrance to sell tickets.  Karen Harty is going to check on a Branson Trip.  Leslie
Kidwell and Carla Cross volunteered to sit at the first game to sell tickets.

Needing a bigger trailer was discussed to pull the pit crew at the competitions.  Tonya Massie has volunteered to pull a trailer.

Estimates are being gathered for band pictures.  It was agreed to let Mr. Winters make an executive decision on a price of the pictures.

Sam Barbee is planning to paint the props with the assistance of a few band students.

Leslie Kidwell is checking with the schools regarding dress down days as a fund raiser for the band.

Jeanna Kayser made a suggestion of selling Boston Butts as a fundraiser.  Jeanna will check into this.

Carla Cross made a motion to adjourn.  Mr. Winters 2nd the motion.
